Job Description

  • Job Duties
  • Design and develop electrical system for any given requirement or problem statement on various Caterpillar Engines. Perform electrical analysis, load analysis and design calculations to achieve them.
  • Collect and understand the requirements for the Design/Program and Evaluate new products, processes, or system.
  • Responsible to lead and deliver NPI Programs which includes creation of electrical Sub-systems, Design and Routing of Harness, creation of Harness drawings, collaboration with suppliers.
  • Get involved and contribute in new component development and sub processes.
  • Develop Creo Schematic and Positive BOM for wiring harnesses.
  • Conduct design review meetings, participate & share your views in NPI Gateway reviews, collaborate with Cross Functional teams and resolve any design related issues that arise.
  • Investigate root causes for Field Failures and take corrective actions.
  • Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units Perform product maintenance /Resolve electrical design related issues

    QUALIFICATIONS for Caterpillar Hiring

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Awareness on manufacturing process of wiring harness, supplier collaboration, APQP, validation of harness & cable assemblies will be an added advantage
  • Pro/E -Creo & Pro-Diagram experience.
  • Required Qualification:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Mechanical Engineering, plus 4-8 years of design experience in Automotive electrical or Heavy Engineering electrical systems.
  • Incumbent must be able to demonstrate the ability to gain a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts. Must have a good mechanical/electrical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
  • Requires strong leadership ability and good communications skills.

Job Description

  • The key role of this entry level engineering position is to learn and assist: to gain an understanding of Caterpillar’s business, products, systems, and procedures; to learn and develop skills which result from the practical application of basic engineering knowledge; and to provide assistance to a project team or others in the work group.
  • Projects will usually be of short duration and work results will affect those working on the same project or assignment.
  • Typically, decisions will impact routine, low risk issues that may affect the project team, suppliers, or internal customers.
  • Challenges include applying theory, learning procedures, and understanding the technology.
  • Responsibilities :
  • Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following: perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products, processes, or systems; communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units; contribute to the design of new products and processes; perform product and process maintenance; support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • In this role, he/she must manage their own development, continuously learning through experience and staying abreast of technology changes.
  • Learning will focus on methods, processes and systems applied to engineering functions, key engineering skills, practical application of theory, communications and building a knowledge of Caterpillar’s products, suppliers and customers.

    QUALIFICATIONS for Caterpillar Hiring Freshers

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering in Mechanical / Production / Automobile and excellent analytical skills.
  • Preferred candidates are from 2018 & 2019 batch. Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as customers and suppliers.
  • Good Understanding of Engineering Graphics / Drawings. Critical Competencies – Initiative, Accountability, Communication Skills (Written/Oral)
